Eivor Saint Louis Concert reviews
Room for improvement
Kevin Cronin, with his enthusiasm for the band and its history, really keeps it together. He engaged the crowd with some band history and recollections of past shows in Birmingham decades ago. For a rock frontman, he still acted the part at 71. His long term bandmate Bruce, on the other hand, seemed to show his age with his movements on stage. They played the hits and a few deep cuts for about a 15 song total, a little short for the money paid. The light show was adequate.
On the other hand, the sound mix for the indoor venue was horrible. The words to the songs could not be recognized, way too loud, and the guitar solos were virtually lost behind the wall of mush from the sound system. I love loud, but when the sound is not clear, it is a turnoff. For a seasoned band, they could have done much better in the sound department.
